HPV reduces MRO acquisitions to a modal average of zero

“It proved impossible for cleaning staff to effectively decontaminate every surface or to effectively sterilize an environment using manual methods alone. The attitude taken by the hospital was that manual deep cleaning was not efficient or cost effective.”

Background

Multi-resistant organisms (MRO) at Sutherland Hospital were increasing. An action plan was formed using improved manual cleaning and Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour.

Method

Sutherland Hospital ICU improved PPE requirements and implemented Inivos’ HPV system into their decontamination programme.

Result

After using Inivos’ HPV system, the ICU experienced significantly lower MRO cases and reduced the occupied-bed number by over 90%.
