ProXcide delivers vaporised 7.9% hydrogen peroxide using a unique method of vapour dispersal technology combined with powerful circulation. The pulsed fan control ensures the vapour is evenly distributed throughout the room and makes contact with all surfaces requiring treatment, resulting in a comprehensive, reliable surface decontamination.

It’s been specially developed for critical care units in acute hospitals. Each unit can treat a volume of up to 170m3, enough to treat side rooms, toilets, small bays, and side wards in Neo-Natal Intensive care Units (NICUs), Intensive Care Units (ICUs), High Dependency Units (HDUs) and any other high-risk areas.
Hydrogen peroxide is automatically and rapidly deactivated at the end of the process.
Safety triggers are built in that detect issues with the dispersal cycle and motion, such as premature entry into the room, which projects audible and visual alarms. An emergency stop button is also part of the detachable monitor.
The chamber storing the ProXcin hydrogen peroxide displays a visible LED gauge that clearly shows the amount of fluid remaining, ideal for timely management of supplies and replacements.
Deactivation of hydrogen peroxide
It provides reassurance and control over the process. There is no need to rely on environmental conditions for hydrogen peroxide to dissipate and it makes the decontamination process far more time efficient.
The operator can terminate the decontamination process at any time using the remote control system and go straight to the deactivation stage without needing to enter the room.

The complete decontamination cycle incorporates an injection phase, ‘dwell’ phase, and a deactivation phase.
The vapour, called ProXcin, has a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide (7.9%) and is suitable for the hospital environment and patient equipment. It’s also safer to store than the solution used in many other systems, and allows quicker deactivation once decontamination is complete.
The machine has been independently validated by Public Health England’s Biosafety Investigation Unit at Porton Down. Tests reported >log6 reduction of microorganisms associated with HAIs.
ProXcide also prompts operators to work through an electronic process check sheet before every process, so staff and patients are never put in danger. In-built cameras allow the operator to remotely check for safe and effective process setup. A failsafe function ensures rapid reduction of hydrogen peroxide concentration in the event of technical issues. The failsafe is automatically triggered if motion sensors on the ProXcide unit detect entry to the treatment space.
To guarantee an efficacious process, ProXcide will only confirm and record a successful cycle completion if the space has been fully decontaminated. On completion of the HPV cycle, an email report is automatically sent to a designated recipient to provide a robust audit trail for each treatment space, detailing the duration of the process and operator information.
Designed to be handled by one person, ProXcide is secured by six fully manoeuvrable castors that allow omni-directional travel, and complemented with a handle that encircles the entire device, making it easy to turn in any direction.
The decontamination procedure is controlled remotely via a detachable and portable process monitor; a Wi-Fi-enabled touch screen device that provides full visibility of the decontamination process during each stage.
For additional security, approved and trained operators only are given unique touch cards to activate the device.
