Earlier this month we met our Brand Manager, Victoria Young. As part of a series we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our Head of Product, Ian Morren.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I try to find ways of helping my team to do their best work in making excellent products available for our sales team. We start the day with a brief huddle to align the priorities for the day, and the remainder of the day is spent on supporting the team on their projects, attending meetings, and working on the product development pipeline. I particularly enjoy working with the sales team to support with technical product support, and with the finance team to ensure our products are delivering profitable revenue.
What is something only a few people know about you?
I used to be skinny!
How did you get into your area of work?
I spent the first 14 years of my working life designing, installing, and selling ventilation and air conditioning systems and projects. I had reached a point in my career when I wanted to progress into a new area when I came across an opportunity to join Inivos in a technical role, and here I am!
What is it about your industry that inspires you?
The whole healthcare system is full of amazing, unselfish people who live and breathe by their care for others. I have personal reasons to be very grateful for the NHS and it feels a little like I can give something back by being involved in the healthcare industry.
Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?
Create more products!
What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?
To be a part of something that really, genuinely changes people’s lives for the better and is a matter of life and death.
What are your interests outside of work?
Exploring the amazing countryside which our beautiful country is blessed with. I also enjoy barbecues and cocktails!
From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement that you are most proud of.
It has to be bringing a revolutionary decontamination product to market, the Ultra-V Connect.
What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?
Learn as much as you can about the industry, the science and the people as early as you can.
