Earlier this month we met our Social Media Expert, Wendy Ford. As part of a new series we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our Head Technician, Robert Coward.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me is always varied and can range from, servicing our older decontamination machine’s, building new machine’s, finding and fixing faults, teaching new starters and giving advice regarding machines remotely.
What is something only a few people know about you?
Before joining Inivos, I worked for my wife’s business as support worker for adults with learning disabilities which was extremely rewarding and inspiring.
How did you get into your area of work?
The majority of my previous roles have involved some level of manufacturing, servicing and electrical work so this role was an obvious step in the right direction.
What is it about your industry that inspires you?
What inspires me most is the fact that if I do my job well then it could make a difference to health workers in the NHS by freeing up bed space quicker.
Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?
I would ride my motorbike for an extra hour.
What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?
I would say the variation of the role, my colleagues and the management.
What are your interests outside of work?
I enjoy building and riding motorcycle’s, most recently built a nice sports bike, the Ducati 749.
From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement you are most proud of.
I would say receiving my promotion is probably the one I’m most proud of, but also receiving the Living By Our Values award at the annual awards ceremony.
What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?
Take your time and just ask if you are unsure of anything!
Thanks for your time, Robert!
We hope you enjoyed meeting Robert, keep an eye out for the next post in our series when we will be meeting Becca Covill, our Human Resources Administrator.
