Meet our Production Quality Engineer

Earlier this month we met our Regional Manager for the South of England, Dean Remmington.  As part of a series, we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our Production Quality Engineer, Paul Gray.

What does a typical day look like for you?

This can be a varied role taking a lead on production quality and taking ownership of recurring fault investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of resolutions. Also raising, performing and completing any non-conforming parts and updating technical documentation.

What is something only a few people know about you?

I am very technical and hands on and am all for improvements and working in a lean environment.

How did you get into your area of work?

I went to college in Cambridge where I studied electrical and mechanical engineering, and then found myself at a company for over 24 years (a long time I know!) This is where I gained a lot of my experience and knowledge in manufacturing.

I have now been in the industry for over 25 years where my focus has been injection moulding. I have always been dedicated to making sure processes are successful and improvements are made, and that quality is to a high standard. I joined Inivos as a production engineer where I really learnt a great deal and then was offered to move into the quality engineer role which is now challenging and exciting.

Paul meet the team

What is it about your industry that inspires you?

Going through the journey of troubleshooting and then making improvements to the product that will be a benefit to the company and our customers.

What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?

The people are friendly and there is a good team dynamic that makes everyone feel supported.

What are your interests outside of work?

Spending time with family and friends, I love spending time with the wife trying different restaurants and trying different cocktails along the way.

From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement that you are most proud of.

Seeing the improvements from decisions that I’ve made from a quality perspective. Even though they may be small, I feel like these make a difference to production and the quality of the final product.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?

Be patient. Ask questions as you go and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Thanks for your time, Paul!

We hope you enjoyed meeting Paul. Keep an eye out for the next post in our series when we will be meeting Grant Lyon, our regional manager in the midlands.
