Earlier this month we met one of our Product Specialists, Megan Pepper. As part of a series we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our Brand Manager, Victoria Young
What does a typical day look like for you?
My day can vary a lot so this is quite difficult to answer, but let’s give it a go…
I would start with a daily catch up with the team, share any upcoming marketing campaigns or events the team should be aware of. From then on I can either be doing research for a new article, briefing in graphic design work, checking our website performance or planning an new campaign. This week we’ve been getting ready for an upcoming event so my days have been even more varied than usual.
What is something only a few people know about you?
A few years ago, I went to Alaska to see the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, there was thick cloud blocking the view every evening, which is quite common so I wasn’t too disappointed. However, whilst I was there, my Dad saw the lights all the way from England!
How did you get into your area of work?
I worked as a property photographer for several years but decided I needed a change. A friend recommended Inivos and had seen a job advert for an Executive Assistant they thought would suit me. I agreed and so applied for the role which was in the marketing department and here I am!
What is it about your industry that inspires you?
I think the power of marketing is really inspiring, particularly it’s ability to change the perception of a brand. The other aspect I find inspiring is the cross over marketing has with other departments. There is so much to be gained by working together through an integrated approach and new insights that can be shared and understood.
Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?
Probably sleep. I’m someone that needs A LOT of sleep.
What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?
Knowing that the work we are doing makes a real difference to the lives of patients and staff within the NHS. I really feel for NHS workers over the last few years, so knowing we are providing a product or service that can help relieve some of the pressure for them is really rewarding.
What are your interests outside of work?
Socialising with friends and family, going for walks, trying new things. I love the summer months and enjoy a good BBQ or a picnic.
From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement that you are most proud of.
I would say, being promoted to Brand Manager after just over a year of working for Inivos. Considering I had very limited marketing experience when I joined and I am now responsible for our brand, I am quite proud of that.
What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?
Network, network, network. You never know who you are going to meet or who can help you take the next step in your career.
Thanks for your time, Victoria!
We hope you enjoyed meeting Victoria, keep an eye out for the next post in our series when we will be meeting Ian Morren, our Head of Product at Inivos.
