Meet our Finance Assistant
Earlier this month we met our Regional Manager for Scotland and Northern England, Ben Kilbey. As part of a series, we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our finance assitant, Andrew Rivett.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me consists of processing purchase invoices, handling queries from colleagues and suppliers and most importantly, paying the bills!
What is something only a few people know about you?
When I was younger, I used to be a Cub Scout leader.
How did you get into your area of work?
I joined an accountancy practice at 18 straight from college and have been in finance ever since.
What is it about your industry that inspires you?
Resolving queries and ensuring smooth supplier relationships, which helps other business departments.
Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?
Spend it with my family; either out and about for a walk or visiting a National Trust property or just at home relaxing with a board game.
What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?
There is a supportive culture throughout the business that I admire, from senior management to helpful colleagues.
What are your interests outside of work?
National Trust member for around 4 years – love Belton House and Oxburgh Hall locally.
I’ve been a Liverpool FC supporter since the age of 6 and I enjoy reading, mostly autobiographies.
From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement that you are most proud of.
Reorganizing the purchases accounting system and record keeping to ensure a smooth invoicing process and getting all suppliers up to date (and keeping them that way!)
What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?
Learn the basics first. Once you are confident with these, everything else is so much easier
