Earlier this month we met our Regional Manager for the Midlands and Wales, Grant Lyon. As part of a series, we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet one of our Mobile Service Technicians, Ruben Silva Rojo.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Driving to customer sites in the midlands to repair and service Inivos decontamination machines.
What is something only a few people know about you?
I am an engineer looking for a future that gives meaning to my life, one that will enable me to provide for and protect my family. A future that in my late days I can look back and say, ‘I didn’t fail’.
How did you get into your area of work?
I had a mechanical engineering degree and I love driving so found a way to mix the two.
What is it about your industry that inspires you?
Being able to help people, the continued learning opportunities, and the innovative nature of the business.
Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?
Go to university. I would probably study aeronautical engineering or aerospace engineering.
What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?
The passion everyone at Inivos has for delivering good service in an environment that helps a lot of people.
What are your interests outside of work?
Motor sports, movies and travelling. I’ve always wanted to go to New Orleans, San Francisco and South Korea.
From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement that you are most proud of.
Be able to understand how machines work and fix them on site to keep hospitals running Decons.
What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?
There are many dark jobs out there but here you will be treated as part of a family and they will help you in every aspect of your role, both professionally and personally.
Thanks for your time, Ruben!
We hope you enjoyed meeting Ruben. Keep an eye out for the next and final post in our series where we will be meeting our Managing Director, Stuart Roach.
