Meet Our HR Administrator

Earlier this month we met our Head Technician, Robert Coward.  As part of a series we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our HR Administrator, Becca Covill.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My role is so varied, this could be anything from carrying out probationary reviews, organising holiday requests, payroll queries, and recruitment. No two days are ever the same.

What is something only a few people know about you?

I am studying for a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology alongside working full time.

That is quite the undertaking, how are you finding this so far?

I won’t lie, it can definitely be stressful trying to balance everything, but I really enjoy the subject and know it will be worth it in the end.

How did you get into your area of work?

I have always had a strong interest in psychology – workplace psychology in particular (hence the degree). I always want to help others and make a work environment as happy and efficient as possible.

What is it about your industry that inspires you?

Being able to support employees and help make a difference in their working life. We spend so much of our lives in work so I enjoy the fact that I can make a difference where it really matters.

Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?

I would spend some extra time studying! There never seems to be enough time in the day.

What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?

Everyone is so friendly, I felt so welcomed, right from my first day. People are always willing to help one another out, which helped me settle in quickly.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy studying, reading (usually a good murder mystery), going for walks around my local village, and spending time with family. At the weekends, I often visit Overton Station with my family, as they have a lovely little coffee shop where you can sit outside and watch the steam trains pass through (not to mention the delicious homemade cakes they sell).

From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement you are most proud of.

Whilst I haven’t been here long, I feel really proud of how quickly I have managed to pick up tasks and how much my confidence has improved. I have experienced so much personal growth within my first 3 months, I can’t wait to see where I am this time next year.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?

Don’t stress and don’t be afraid to ask for help. There will always be people to support you. It’s also key to try to get to know everyone, especially in this role. The more people you know, the more people you can support and who will support you.

Thanks for your time, Becca!

We hope you enjoyed meeting Becca, keep an eye out for the next post in our series when we will be meeting Titas Trumpa, our Mobile Service Technician.
