Meet our Regional Sales Manager for the Midlands

Earlier this month we met our Production Quality Engineer, Paul Gray.  As part of a series, we are giving you the chance to meet the people behind our products, the people that answer the phone when you call us, the people that make Inivos the experts in infection prevention and control. This week we meet our Regional Manager for the Midlands and Wales, Grant Lyon.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I tend to be out and about around the countryside visiting NHS Acute Trusts. I’ll meet with Clinicians and Facilities teams to understand their needs and how we can support them with any infection challenges they may have.

What is something only a few people know about you?

Hmm….probably that I was once forced to shake an MP’s hand upside down due to a sports injury!

How did you get into your area of work?

During COVID I was contacted by a friend who worked for Inivos already and he offered me a job… I agreed to join the team, and here I am today!

What is it about your industry that inspires you?

The selfless dedication of all of the wonderful people that work inside the NHS to look after the increasing numbers of patients that turn up at hospitals every day.

Imagine there are now 25 hours in a day, what would you do with that extra hour?

Professionally I would use it to speak to more people. Personally, I would spend it on physical exercise or reading.

Grant Lyon

What do you enjoy most about working at Inivos?

The new solutions that our team continue to develop to help our NHS deliver better care, faster – it’s enthusing to be offering something that’s cutting edge and innovative.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy BBQing, socialising with family and friends and a good game of Cricket.

From your time here at Inivos, tell me about a work achievement that you are most proud of.

I really enjoyed working on a project with a particular hospital to upgrade their fleet of Deprox systems to ProXcide. They purchased 16 of our ProXcide HPV systems with a 7 year SLA contract.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out in your area of work?

Spend time understanding the industry and learning about infections. A sound knowledge of different infections, their risks and how they transmit will prove to be invaluable.

Thanks for your time, Grant!

We hope you enjoyed meeting Grant. Keep an eye out for the next post in our series when we will be meeting Ruben Silva Rojo, one of our mobile service technicians.
