Fire Detector CapKit (CapKit and TeleProp)

To operate a Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) decontamination system safely within your organisation, you will require a method of safely isolating the smoke detectors within spaces you are treating. The smoke detector restriction kit is a simple device for capping fire detector heads and preventing false fire alarms as a result of the vapour activating fire detection systems. A single person operation makes the smoke detector kit easy to use and avoids the risk of working at height.

The kit comes complete with a telescopic pole (TeleProp) with anti-slip foot and rigid plastic smoke detector cap (CapKit) attached to the reverse end of the pole. The rigid cap is placed over the smoke detector head and the pole is extended to a flat fixed surface. This provides support to hold the cap in place throughout the treatment process.

The smoke detector kit is easy to remove at the end of a decontamination process by simply releasing the pole and removing the rigid plastic cap from the smoke detection head. During each hydrogen peroxide vapour treatment cycle the kit is also decontaminated which means maintenance is low. All that should be required is to keep the equipment free of dirt/debris and ensure the extension and locking mechanisms on the TeleProp are functional.
